There are instances when you want to target a completely new audience with your Facebook marketing efforts. However, it’s not uncommon for many of your audiences to overlap in key ways.
For instance, perhaps you created a Custom Audience with certain key interests and demographic features. With that audience, perhaps you were targeting a specific region.

Being able to duplicate that saved audience might be very helpful if you ever launched a new marketing campaign and wanted to target the same type of users, but in a different part of the country, or a smaller region.
With the duplicate audience, all you would have to do is change region, instead of manually creating a new audience with all the same settings except that one. All the other settings you can simply leave alone.
Facebook doesn’t offer a feature for duplicating saved audiences. That said, you can still do so by following these key steps:
Using Facebook Business Manager (or Ads Manager if you don’t have a Business Manager account), select the relevant ad account, then select “Audiences” under the “Asset” section to find your Saved Audiences. Check the box next to the name of the audience you would like to duplicate.

Next, click the “Edit” button. This allows you to make adjustments to the audience. Again, that will prove useful when you want to make changes to a duplicate audience without manually inserting all the same information again.
You’re going to want to give your duplicate audience a new name to avoid confusion. This can be as simple as “Duplicate of [Original Audience Name].” Edit the name accordingly.

Now you can also make edits to any of the other settings you wish to change. Maybe you want to target a different age group with your new campaign. Perhaps you’d like to target only one gender. The edits you make will depend on your specific goals. Once you’re satisfied with your edits, all you have to do is click “Save as New.”
Make sure you don’t click “Update”! This won’t create a new audience. Instead, it will simply apply the edits to the existing one. You don’t want that to happen.
It’s also worth noting that there are instances when it may make sense to avoid audience overlap. Facebook allows you to check overlaps, helping you better understand what you can do to guard against them. However, when you do want some degree of overlap between your audiences, this simple process can be very helpful.
