Where will Ads show on whatsapp?
It has been gathered that ads will soon be displayed on the WhatsApp Status feature, which will help businesses to ‘reach people on WhatsApp’. WhatsApp advertisement will appear in the “Status” section – just as you can update your status now on the whatsapp app. Photos, videos and animated GIFs in the status always disappears 24 hours after publication.
These ads will be made to run in such a way that it consumes only a minute or suffices to say infinitesimal amount of data as encryption on WhatsApp. Hence, the ads will not collect any data from the application directly.
However, the ad will be supported by its own Facebook advertising system which shows that social networks can connect telephone numbers registered with Facebook’s profile data to offer targeted advertisements.
When will the ads be launched on whatsapp?
Specific date to launch the ads to WhatsApp users has not been fixed or known yet but be rest assured that you will be updated once it comes out. Besides, iOS devices will be the first to receive it, before being rolled over to Android devices.
According to the latest Facebook financial report, WhatsApp now has more than 450 million daily active users.
“At every company that sells ads, a significant portion of their engineering team spends they day tuning data mining, writing better code to collect your personal data… remember, when advertising is involved, you the user are the product.”
